We are proud to support a wide range of projects and events throughout the region, as well as helping residents to thrive. Bringing communities together is important to us.

Great Highbridge Drop In events
Over the past few months there have been a number of community drop in events held in Highbridge to help raise awareness of the different services in the area.
These included energy services and family friendly activities, and saw over 100 people attend the final event in February half term, which included a free lunch.
The events were led by Spark Somerset, with LiveWest & Burnham & Weston Energy being some of the main partnership organisations getting involved. Other agencies in attendance at these events included Weston Hospicecare, SASP, Talk Club, Devon & Somerset Fire Service, Young Somerset and Somerset Skills & Learning.
The free events have been a great opportunity for local people to get involved and come together, including LiveWest residents. The hope is for more events in the future, so keep an eye on our Connecting Communities Facebook group for more information.
Ecos Court community garden
A community garden was set up last year at Ecos Court, Frome, with help from the Frome Seed Library. By borrowing seeds from the library, residents have been able to grow vegetables and donate some seeds back.
There has been a wide range of activity at the garden, including weekly gardening and craft clubs during the school holidays and a Halloween party. Despite the cold weather over winter, local residents have continued to make use of the garden, including children, who have been endearingly named the ‘Veg Patch Sprouts’ by Kerry from the Frome Seed Library.
The garden continues to go from strength to strength, with much planned for the year ahead.

Energy vouchers for customers
We have helped customers secure energy vouchers, helping to make a big difference over winter. Our Grants team work with customers and partners to get grants from local foundations, which can help to ease concerns about using heating or energy for cooking. If you need support with energy, please get in touch with our teams who can help.
Massingham Meadow
Residents at Massingham Park in Taunton have come together to build a community garden. After identifying a piece of land in their community which was underused, our Estate Services team funded for shrubs to be removed or replanted and the ground levelled to give the community the space to build the planter garden.
The community has worked together sourcing materials to build planters and fences. The project has seen kind donations of compost from Aldi, and LiveWest have donated funding for bark chippings to cover a weed membrane which had also been donated.
The project has been amazing for the community, giving everyone a chance to get involved, including children who have taken part in painting fences. The community have named the space Massingham Meadow, and is an amazing example of make the most of unused land for good, including sharing the food grown.
