Supporting communities: Cornwall

We are proud to support a wide range of projects and events throughout the region, as well as helping residents to thrive. Bringing communities together is important to us.
If you have an idea for a community event or project, or would like to find out more about what is going on in your area, our community connectors can help.
You can also stay up to date on our Connecting Communities Facebook group.
Treneere play area
After a piece of play equipment had to be removed due to being unsafe from the Colinsey Road play area on Treneere, we are delighted that a new piece of equipment has been funded and installed. This will give local residents somewhere to enjoy the outside spaces.
Tackling anti-social behaviour
We are committed to tackling anti-social behaviour. Our Housing and Anti-Social Behaviour teams recently worked at a scheme in Newquay to carry out additional patrols and to work with local residents to let them know how to report any issues they were experiencing. As a result of this work the local authority were able to gain a partial order closure at an address, helping to tackle anti-social behaviour.
We have also recently carried out visits to estates in Bodmin including with the local police to speak to residents to encourage reporting anti-social behaviour. We also spoke to residents about parking, bins, and gave advice on reporting repairs.
Truro litter pick
We recently organised a litter pick at Footes Fields and Chy Barham in Truro to help keep the area tidy. With volunteers from our Housing, Lettings and Community teams as well as local residents including children, great progress was made.

Time2Move Holiday Programme
The Time2Move Holiday Programme offers activities and games for children, as well as meals. There are a range of activities available over holidays for children aged 5-16. Take a look at the activities available.
Christmas hampers
LiveWest volunteers including Community Connector Lorna Turnbull recently volunteered at the Helston and The Lizard Foodbank helping with their Christmas Hampers Appeal, helping to make a huge difference to families. Along with a small army of other volunteers we packed 104 boxes which will provide a basics of a meal plus some festive treats for over 400 people in the area this Christmas. The boxes ranged from food for single households up to families of seven and included items such as stuffing mix, gravy mix, jars of pickles, soft drinks, custard, Christmas cake, puddings, mince pies, boxes of biscuits, savoury biscuits, crisps and chocolates.
