Residents come together for fire safety day

Our Fire Safety team recently visited Pennard Court in Bath to hold a fire safety day. The event gave the opportunity for residents to ask questions about what they should do in an emergency. 

One resident, Trudy, said: “I live at Pennard Court and I’m happy with LiveWest’s support. I’m happy to live here because there are lots of other people who are deaf. It’s fantastic to live with other deaf people. 

“I think it’s fantastic that you’ve come here to talk to us. It makes us think more about cooking and when fires happen we have the stay put policy and to contact 999.” 

The visit was a great opportunity for us to help reassure the residents if a fire occurred, particularly for residents who may have learning disabilities or hearing impairments. 

Our Fire Safety team also recently visited Bristol Foyer alongside a colleague from the Cornwall Fire Department to share the importance of fire safety.  

The young residents at the supported housing scheme took part in a fun fire safety quiz!

Community Wellbeing Hub

The Community Wellbeing Hub offers support for health and wellbeing needs for those in Bath and North East Somerset. 

They can offer help with a range of services, including financial and money matters, accessing food, mental health support, housing advice, employment and skills training, volunteering, supporting carers and much more.

Supporting residents find new housing

We recently helped two residents to secure new housing, working with Bath and North East Somerset Council to make use of Homesearch and find a new home. We have been able to support the customers including with moving costs and a new carpet, as well as with our Income Team. 

Energy vouchers for customers

We have helped customers secure energy vouchers, helping to make a big difference over winter. Our Grants team work with customers and partners to get grants from local foundations, which can help to ease concerns about using heating or energy for cooking.
