You play a really important part in helping us to keep homes and common areas safe for families, visitors, and neighbours.
- If we have made an appointment with you, please remember to keep it. Let us know if things change – we can always arrange a new date with you.
- Allow us access when we make a reasonable request so that we can check the condition of your home and make any necessary changes or repairs. You don’t always have to be in. With your agreement, we would be happy to pick up a key from a neighbour or, by arrangement, from one of our key safes.
- It's really important you check the identity of anyone you let into your home. That's why all our employees and contractors carry official identity cards, which includes their photographs. If you are at all concerned about letting anyone who claims to be from LiveWest, please ask to see their identity card. If they don't have a card, or you're worried, don't let them into your home. Call us and we'll be happy to confirm if someone from LiveWest was due to call. Genuine callers are always happy to wait for you to check.
- Prepare for our visit – make sure our staff and operatives can get to the equipment they have come to check out. We will do what we can to explain where we need access to before we arrive.
- Please make sure an adult is at home if there are young people in the property - as we can't work with unsupervised children in the home.
- Keep your common areas free from items such as bikes and pushchairs that may block the means of escape in the event of a fire.
- Regularly check the detectors in your home – and if they don’t work, let us know. We will replace them immediately.
- Help us to carry out other checks – they may not seem important at the time but could save your life.
- Read the information provided on resident safety – and if you are unsure, check out our website or just ask.
- Make sure your visitors look after your home and common areas – they are your responsibility.
- If you are a leaseholder, promptly agree to carry out work that is your responsibility under the terms of your lease.
- Remember that we take your safety very seriously. If we fail to get in, or you don’t cooperate with us, we may at the end of the day take legal action to ensure that important work affecting your safety is done.
