We are celebrating the women in our communities and our organisation

This International Women's Day, join us in recognising and celebrating the achievements of the women surrounding us.

We are proud to be supporting International Women's Day (Saturday 8 March) to celebrate the importance of equality and women’s rights alongside communities across the world.

International Women’s Day brings together women from across the world. The day calls for a world free of bias, stereotypes and discrimination.

As an organisation committed to providing a home for everyone, we have hundreds of women to celebrate. Whether these are colleagues within our organisation, our customers, women in our Supported Housing schemes or our Sheltered Housing schemes, we want to join in celebrating the achievements of these women to make a positive difference.

We have already made progress in this journey. As an organisation that promotes equality, we began our Women in Trades Campaign in 2021 to promote our female trades force and encourage more women to pursue a trades career.

Last year we also welcomed back our Women in Trades Taster Day to give women an opportunity to learn new trades skills and see whether they would like to pursue a trades career.

In an industry which is predominantly male, it is important to us that we empower more women to pursue trades careers. Our message is clear - you can achieve your career aspirations at LiveWest no matter the role or your gender.

As an organisation, we look to support females in other areas of the community. Some of our colleagues teamed up at our Exeter office to donate sanitary products to EX5 Alive to support the women in the communities around us.

There are many women in our Sheltered Housing schemes who are working and achieving each day, despite any difficulty they may have faced. At LiveWest, this is something we always encourage and support, so we continue to recognise this this International Women's Day.

Through our Supported Housing Campaign, launched last November 2024, we continue to  promote female empowerment through our adults and families supported housing schemes to reflect the support we offer for young mums and their babies.

Helping to raise the profile of the services Supported Housing schemes, we are continuously sharing stories of our residents and using the #LetsTalkSH tag.

This International Women's Day, join us in celebrating the achievements and the growth of the females in our communities and organisation.
