LiveWest have been working with charity Active Plus, an organisation who use the skills, experience and knowledge of injured military veterans to deliver unique programmes that build confidence and self-belief regardless of their background and circumstances. The group run a series of workshops designed to help people overcome the barriers which may prevent them from getting a job.
As part of our #AnyoneAnywhere social isolation campaign, we went along to one of these workshops to gain a little more insight into how it works, what the benefits are and why funding organisations like these are essential to help combat isolation and improve wellbeing.
Keri Millar, Community Connector at LiveWest said: “Active Plus and the Who Dares Works Instructors are a truly inspirational group of people. They really connect with the participants on their courses, many of whom are LiveWest customers, seeking support to help them get back into work. The programme tailors support to each individual to enable them to build confidence levels and seek out new opportunities to develop, try out new things and meet new people.”
