Throughout the last year, our LiveWest colleagues took on numerous challenges all in the name of charity! From bake sales, to golf tournaments and even a 215 mile bike ride, we raised £15,702 for our charity of the year, Alzheimer’s Society.
The south-west has the highest number of people living with dementia, with the lowest diagnosis rate. Alzheimer’s Society enables support groups and local services which provide day care and home care for people with dementia, as well as support and befriending services to help partners and families cope with the demands of caring and we have been delighted to support this worthy charity over the last year.
Claire Frost, Community Fundraiser for Alzheimer’s Society in Devon, Cornwall and Isles of Scilly said, “Thank you so much to everyone at LiveWest for the fantastic amount you have raised for Alzheimer’s Society over the last year. We are so grateful for your support and this money will make such a difference to those families living with dementia, especially during the current difficult time when those isolated need our help more than ever.
Across the south-west, there are estimated to be over 81,000 people living with the condition. Alzheimer’s Society provides support and guidance at a local level, as well as groups such as Singing for the Brain and our volunteer-led Side by Side service.
The money you have raised will also help us fund vital research into care and cure (some of which takes place at the University of Exeter) and to continue to campaign for better dementia care and to work towards a more dementia-friendly society.”

Well done to our colleagues for their hard work in raising so much for a great cause.
