New affordable homes have been completed in Cullompton, Devon, thanks to a partnership between LiveWest and housebuilder Persimmon Homes.
A total of 10 high quality, affordable homes have been developed at the Mill Gardens site in the town.
Four of the homes are for affordable rent and six for shared ownership.
The homes are the first phase of 10 of 14 homes being built as part of the initial phase of development, with six to follow in the next phase.
Gareth Jones, our Development Manager, said: “LiveWest is committed to maximising the delivery of affordable housing across Devon.
“The 20 affordable homes that we are delivering on this site are a great example of what collaboration can achieve on a development site, the two companies working together for the wider benefit of the community in delivering the affordable homes.
“Affordability is such a key issue now, particularly with the increased cost of living, so it's great to be able to provide the mix of shared ownership and rented affordable homes, the first ten of which are being handed over to us during March.
”LiveWest is happy to work with partners, like Persimmon, who are helping to deliver mixed and well-designed communities that cater for a range of housing needs.
“We are committed to supporting communities and we hope these new affordable homes have all the elements needed to help a mixed community thrive.”
Mill Gardens is situated on the outskirts of Cullompton close to the M5 leading to further amenities and is a desirable family location.
We have plans to build more than 5,000 affordable homes across the South West over the next five years. As well as developing new homes LiveWest continues to invest in existing homes and communities.
Dan Heathcote, Persimmon Homes South West Managing Director, said: “Persimmon is determined to leave a positive community legacy where we build, and one key element of our offering is the transfer of quality new homes to local housing association partners.
”I am pleased to say that we have transferred most of our high-quality homes designated for housing need in the area, and we hope this significant community contribution will help alleviate pressure on the local housing list.
“We are pleased to partner with LiveWest to deliver this increase in provision for the people of Cullompton and nearby as we continue to make progress on this popular site delivering quality homes for local people.”
