LiveWest scoop development award

We are celebrating after winning the Best Affordable Housing Development (under 25 Homes) award at the Inside Housing Development Awards.
LiveWest scoop development award for Nelson Project

Judges were wowed by The Nelson project as we beat off stiff competition to land the prestigious award.

Development Director Gareth Jones, Senior Development Manager Rob Cock and New Business Manager Michael Hourican represented LiveWest at the glitzy awards ceremony at The Brewery in London.

Despite nine projects being shortlisted for the award, our Nelson Project stood out as comedian Tom Ward presented our team with the trophy.

LiveWest Development Director Gareth Jones said: “The development team was thrilled to receive the award for best affordable housing project (under 25 homes) at the national Inside Housing Awards for the flagship Nelson Project in Plymouth.

“It is further recognition for the project following on from the awards that the project has already received from the Royal Town Planning Institute and Plymouth's own Abercrombie design panel.

“It is well- deserved recognition for all the hard work undertaken by LiveWest's development team working in partnership with Form Design, project architects, Plymouth City Council and the Community Self Build Association. We're proud to have delivered quality homes in the heart of Plymouth for those in housing need.”

Formed thanks to a partnership between Community Self Build Agency, LiveWest, Plymouth City Council and Form Design Group, the flagship housing in Plymouth - consisting of 24 single bedrooms - was designed to transform the lives of returning veterans, retraining them in construction skills so they could build their own homes.

The affordable apartments house 12 veterans, six people from the housing waiting list and six homes for people with mild learning disabilities who are able to live independently with low levels of support.
