Jenny is delighted to have her new windows installed in time for Christmas

One of our residents is looking forward to a warmer Christmas after benefitting from new windows.

At one of our retirement schemes, residents are delighted with their new windows, which have been installed in time for the festive season.

Jenny, one of our residents at the scheme, thanks LiveWest and Arque for the transformation of her home as she enjoys the improved energy efficiency of her home.

Alongside Arque, we have installed new double-glazed windows across the residential block of flats to help improve the thermal performance of 41 homes.

Jenny, a LiveWest resident, said: “I’m really pleased with the windows. In fact, two nights ago, I went and got my fan because it got so hot in here.

“I just need to close the curtains at nights, you don’t really need any heating, it’s brilliant. I’m going to save a few pennies on electric.

“I’m sure we’re going to save a lot on electric because I’ve not even used it up until now.”

Having moved into her home five years ago this Christmas, Jenny also told her friends and neighbours at the scheme, that they will notice a big difference in their energy consumption when their windows are installed.

“It’s brilliant,” she said.

“LiveWest has been excellent and the window company have been absolutely top class, they really have.

“They took the curtains down, put them back up, cleaned up after themselves. There were no problems whatsoever.

“I’ve had all new windows put in, they’ve done the guttering and drain pipes too… it’s so much lighter and warmer.”

Jenny also reflects on the community atmosphere at the residential scheme as she talks about her busy social calendar and upcoming festive parties.

She said: “I love it here because it’s such a community, we have such good times together.

“We have Christmas parties, New Year’s Eve parties. There’s about 25 of us who get together at those events and it’s nice.

“We have bingo twice a week, we have Sunday lunches delivered from the local pub, we have fish and chips and have coffee mornings on Wednesdays.

“We go down every afternoon and meet up and have a cup of tea and coffee.

“I’m really glad that I moved in.”
