Have you entered our Junior Environmental Champions Competition?

Do you know a young person or child doing a green activity you could enter for a prize? Check out our new environmental competition.

We are running our Junior Environmental Champions Competition aimed at showcasing the positive actions of young people in our communities.

Children or young people who demonstrate how they’re being environmentally friendly or taking steps to be greener will be in with a chance of winning £50 worth of eco-friendly vouchers.

Resident's can submit an entry of them doing something positive for the environment for the chance to win a voucher.

We have partnered with Jewson Partnership Solutions (JPS) who have sponsored the competition and have donated nine vouchers to gift to our Junior Environmental Champions.

We have three categories for you to enter them in, 8 and under, 12 and under or 18 and under, so please submit an entry into one of those categories. There will be up to three prizes in each category to give away!

To enter the competition, simply fill out this form, upload your entry and tell us a little bit about it. Please enter at least one photo as evidence with your submission.

You could get involved by making planters, create a nature area, build a hedgehog home, make a bee box, make a pot plant, plant flowers for wildlife or make a vegetable patch.

You could even make something crafty with recyclable materials, organise a litter pick or write to your local MP to be more environmentally friendly and much more.

As it's Second Hand September, why not turn your unwanted clothes into something? Or use some of the packaging to get creative and do a craft session. If you know a young person doing any of these sustainable things, pop an entry over to us.

There are so many creative ways in which our communities can take action to help local wildlife, reduce carbon emissions and help the environment.

Glynnis Poole, our Director of Investment and Sustainability, said: “We’re pleased to announce our new Junior Environmental Champions Competition, looking for young people who are being sustainable and environmentally-friendly.

“We are looking for our junior champions who may have collaborated with their siblings, friends, neighbours, or school to make a positive change in their community.

“This could be through creating a hedgehog highway throughout the neighbourhood. Or you may have taken action to save water or energy as a family, reducing your carbon footprint by designing a water catcher or water butt or planting flowers for bees. There are many ways you can get involved!

“We hope this competition will encourage more families to find creative ways to help the environment and their community and we look forward to seeing the entries.”

To enter the competition, simply fill out this form. The competition is only open to children or young people of LiveWest customers, and closes on 2 October. Please read the full Terms and Conditions before entering.
