Throughout June we are celebrating Pride Month, dedicated to celebrating LGBTQIA+ communities around the world.
We are joining in with celebrating the work of these communities, raising awareness of issues affecting the LGBTQIA+ community, and promoting education in LGBTQIA+ history.
Why are we celebrating Pride?
Recognising important campaigns, such as Pride Month, provides us with another opportunity to celebrate diversity, engage in meaningful conversations, and work together to encourage positive change.
This aligns with our equality, diversity, and inclusion values, where we want our customers and colleagues to feel valued and appreciate each other's differences!
We are committed to being fair and inclusive, supporting diversity and providing inclusion for all of our customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
How are we celebrating Pride?
This year, LiveWest has lots of plans to celebrate Pride Month. We are investing our time in educating our colleagues on LGBTQIA+ history and advising on the best ways to support family and friends in the community. We have prioritised the voices of the SAGE group, which is our Sexuality and Gender Equality group, listening to their stories and broadcasting their thoughts on LGBTQIA+ issues and Pride Month.
The SAGE group also have some exciting events coming up this month, including a tea party at our Tolvaddon office where they will be celebrating all things Pride! We are also a ‘Gold sponsor’ for Exmouth Pride festival this year, so the group will be attending and celebrating with the local community!
We will also be changing our logo across our social media accounts in celebration of our colleagues and customers in the LGBTQIA+ community.
