As a shared owner, you are able to undertake home improvements with our permission. To do so, please click here.
You may be able to access government grants or schemes to help you improve your home. These schemes are subject to change and most require you to have a property EPC rating of D, E, F or G. You can check your home’s EPC rating here.
There may be additional eligibility requirements affecting the funding you are able to access. These will depend on the area you live in and providers. Usually, if you are in receipt of means tested benefits there is more support available.
When contacting people about funding it is important you make clear your home is a shared ownership home and that repairs and improvements are your responsibility not LiveWest’s.
Some schemes that you may be eligible for include:
Local Authority Delivery Scheme (LADS)
There have been several rounds of funding given to local authorities under the LADs scheme. You should check with your local authority what funding is available. Often local authorities have locally rebranded LADs funding so they may call it something different, or use it to target a specific thing such as replacing heating systems. LADS2 funding is one such phase of funding, delivered through the South West Energy Hub. Further information and contacts for LADS2 are available here.
ECO
Eco Funding is funding derived from a levy on electricity suppliers. The energy companies will work with contractors who will approach individual households, often through cold calls, based on postcode areas. Further information can be found here.
Green Homes Grants
This government programme closed on 31 March 2021. If you have already been issued a voucher, you can still use it to get the work done. You should redeem your voucher before its expiry date. For more information please click here.
