As part of Fire Risk Assessments (FRA), we often have Fire Risk Actions we need to undertake once they are completed.
What is a Fire Risk Action?
This is a piece of work that has been identified through an assessment to be a risk to you, anyone living in your home and your neighbours with regard to fire safety.
There are different levels of risk:
- High risk, which is work we need to do immediately.
- Medium risk, which is work that is important to complete but not as urgently as actions classified as high risk.
- Low risk, which is work that needs to be done but the risk level is judged to be low.
Our independent assessors make the judgement on the level of risk for each action, and we verify this before instigating the works.
We aim to complete all actions as quickly as possible but within our safety standard we set out the maximum timescales for each risk level. These are:
- High risk actions within 7 days.
- Medium risk actions within 6 months.
- Low risk actions within 12 months.
How can you help?
Some of the risks we need to address will involve carrying out works in your home. It is important that in these instances you assist us with allowing access to complete these works as soon as you can following the request from us or our specialist contractors, which will allow us to reduce the risk you face. Often these works won’t take very long, and we can then ensure you have the best possible level of safety for anyone living in your home and your community.
