What is the most environmentally friendly way to dry my clothes?
- tumble dryers use a lot of energy, so ideally air dry clothing outside on a washing line or inside on a clothing rack.
- if drying clothes inside your home, ventilate the room well, to allow the air to flow and space the clothes out so they dry quicker.
- if you use a tumble dryer, use it for the least amount of time possible and ensure the lint filter is clear.
- make sure the clothes are not dripping wet when placed in the dryer, even if this means an extra spin in the washing machine
- make sure the load is full.
