Travelling Green

Did you know that by spending extra time with your friends or colleagues through car sharing, you will be looking after your environment at the same time?

Transport is responsible for over a quarter of the world’s greenhouse gas emissions, and causes air and noise pollution which can be really damaging to our environment and our health! That’s why this month we are exploring different transport methods to help save our environment.

  • Make the most of your local surroundings instead of travelling
Most of our customers are in the South West of England, which is home to many areas of natural beauty (AONB), beautiful beaches and coastline, as well as everything you could want from a city! Why not spend your free time exploring your local areas to see what you might have missed?
  • Walk or cycle for short trips
Walking and cycling are not only eco-friendly transport methods but also great forms of exercise. Exercise is great for both your physical health and your mental health, so why not use your travel time to get your daily exercise in?
  • For longer journeys, use public transport instead of driving
Driving is one of the biggest contributors to the pollution we mentioned before. By using public transport, we can reduce the number of vehicles on the road. Using public transport also gives you an opportunity to catch up on emails, read your book, or meet new people while you travel.
  • Car share with friends, family and colleagues
Lift sharing is also a great way to reduce the number of vehicles on the roads. This can be a great way to spend more time with your friends, family and colleagues, as well as saving money by splitting the fuel cost!
  • Inflate your tyres and drive smoothly!
Sometimes it is necessary to use the car. However, it is important that when driving, you ensure that your tyres are inflated, and you drive smoothly. This will save fuel and therefore reduce the pollution that comes from your journey.
