LiveWest colleagues put in valuable volunteering hours to develop local woodland in Exeter

Our volunteers helped to create new woodland near our Exeter office. They spent the day planting oak trees to contribute to the Great Trees in the Clyst Valley project.

The project aims to encourage communities to explore and restore the heritage of trees in fields, hedges, parks, and orchards across nine priority parishes in Devon.

Lesley Browne, LiveWest Community Connector: ''We had a great day! LiveWest colleagues and other volunteers planted over 550 oak trees during the day, meaning 25% of the planned 2,200 trees are now planted. It was tough work at times but it was dry and the sun was shining and everyone enjoyed it.  The woodland will be visible and eventually accessible from our office building once the planned footpath network is complete. There are a few more volunteering days planned so other varieties of trees can be added to the woodland, and a new hedgerow will be created. My team members are looking forward to the next planting day soon.''

Well done to our brilliant volunteers for their hard work!
