LiveWest, Bath and North East Somerset Council, and Charlcombe Homes are celebrating the success of the new development in Bathampton, which has delivered five new homes including three at social rent levels, alongside homes for market sale.
Customers moved into the new homes this month, which has supported five local families otherwise priced out of the area.
Caroline Hughes Head of Development at LiveWest, said: “The homes at Bathampton provide much needed rural housing for local people. Tyning Road is a great example of where rural housing has made a difference to local people, local communities, and local economy.”
Over the next five years, we have plans to build over 7,500 new homes throughout the South West.
Housing associations up and down the country celebrate Rural Housing Week (2 to 7 July) to highlight how new housing can breathe life into rural communities. It also promotes how rural housebuilding can be key to the survival of vital community assets and services, such as schools, post offices, and pubs.
Councillor Paul Myers, from Bath and North East Somerset Council, said: “The delivery of small numbers of affordable homes in our more rural areas is as essential to addressing the housing needs of our customers as larger larger-scale development in our towns and in Bath city. The Council is delighted to have supported LiveWest with capital funding to help secure this development and to see the quality of the homes provided.”
