Colleague assisting customer on tablet

We are committed to being fair and inclusive, supporting diversity and providing inclusion for all of our customers, colleagues and stakeholders.

Ensuring that we communicate in a way that everone understands is an essential part of our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion strategy.

At the top of this page you will see an ‘Accessibility’ tab. When you click on this, you will have the option to click on ‘Signvideo call’ or ‘Accessibility help.’

Our Recite Me toolbar offers several tools to help you read our website, and can also be used to listen to and translate our website. To open the Recite Me toolbar, click on the button which will appear in the bottom right of your screen when on our website. This will open the toolbar. There are lots of features on here that make our website accessible to everyone.

Helping you read our communications

The ‘increase font size’ on the toolbar offers a text size tool, where you can increase the size of the text to make it easier to read.

There are also screen mask and simplify features to help you focus when reading our website, and we can send letters to you in a larger font so everyone receives the same messages in the way that works for you.

Listen to our website read aloud:

As part of our commitment to making our communications accessible to everyone, we offer a read-aloud service on our website.

By using our speak and translate feature on the Recite Me toolbar, you can listen to the information on our website in an accent of your choice. This means not only is our website accessible to all reading abilities but provides accent options to make this feature work best for you.

Translation services:

The Recite Me toolbar on our website also offers translation into a wide range of worldwide languages, and you can have the content read aloud in some of the most commonly spoken languages.

You can also translate letters or leaflets into over 170 different languages, as well as using a translation service when calling through to customer services, income or housing officers – just let us know which language you require.

Video Relay service

LiveWest have partnered up with SignVideo to make sure that those who are hearing impaired receive the same information from our video or audio content.

To access this service, all you have to do is click ‘Accessibility’ at the top left of our website, click ‘SignVideo call’, enter your postcode and be connected!
