Craddock Close play area looking fantastic in the sun
Residents at a housing development in Holsworthy have demonstrated their pride in a communal garden area by joining forces to keep it maintained.
The play area at Craddock Close was first opened in 2016 after a patch of grass next to a busy road was transformed by a real team effort of staff, parents and children.
LiveWest Community Development Worker, Alison Knight, has been sent a couple of photos showing how the local residents had maintained this fun space for the children.
Alison said “I was delighted to see these lovely photos, it brought a tear to my eye to see how this gorgeous play space is being well looked after.
“It has some lovely established plants and looks wonderful in the sunshine.
“It was hard to believe that this had once been a priority estate because of constant ongoing issues and that any planting on site would be trashed.”
There is also a picnic bench for families to enjoy whilst the children are playing.
Rob Schofield, Estate Services Manager at LiveWest, added: “Great to see this site looking so good; especially rewarding knowing how much work had to go into making it happen.
“It's a great example of how important the external spaces of an estate can be in binding communities together and making places where people want to stay."
Vicky Prete, LiveWest Neighbourhood Manager, said: “It is a great space and is used by a lot of the local children and residents, especially in the hot summer months and when the weather is nice.”
